Wild Weaving Weekend
Spend a full weekend immersing yourself into the world of sculptural basketry, in the studio surrounded by native bush on the footsteps of the Tararua mountain range.
We will cover a lot more such as how to harvest, store and prepare natural fibres for weaving. Birgit will demonstrate how to make cordage with plant fibres and give you lots of inspiration how to finish/decorate your weavings.
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners with no previous weaving experience.
The Retro Pack's Great Gatsby Show
Another night of toe-tapping swinging good times with The Retro Pack celebrating the '20s and '30s.
Featuring the honey-voiced April Phillips, with vocal support from crooners James Tait-Jamieson (also swinging saxophone), Andrew London (guitar), Kirsten London (bass) and drummer Lance Philip.
Special guest the boogie-woogie King himself, Wayne Mason on piano. Come relive the era of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, Jelly Roll Morten and Duke Ellington, with songs by the Gershwin's, Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter and others.
