The Penguin and the Sea Monster - Puppet Show
A starry-eyed story about a little blue penguin who seeks help from the night sky when his friend is captured by a sea monster.

Children's School Holiday Candle Making Workshop
Come and join us for a children's school holiday candle making workshop.
This workshop is for children aged five years and up. The children will each make one medium sized scented candle in a tin and two small scented tealight candles. They will also make cards of their chosen scent and decorate paper bags to take their candles home in.
A morning tea is also provided.

Matariki Wānanga - Tai Timu Tai Pari
That moment when you inhale, and there you are full of breath, expanded lungs and then for whatever reason you begin to exhale.
Sometimes we are fully aware, sometimes our body just does its thing, and we are breathing.
Just as the ocean moves, we move.
This wānanga is for the place of the changing tide within us, before it goes in or out, Tai mate - the slack tide.
The Lorax Movie Experience At Ngā Manu
A 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.
Enjoy the Ngā Manu movie experience with a big screen, bean bags, pillows and throw rugs to cuddle up with as you watch.
$5 includes movie entry, a hot chocolate and bag of popcorn. Admission to the reserve not included, bookings not required.
Star Glaze Mid Winter Ceramics Festival
Star Glaze is an 'up market' all-weather winter festival with attractions both indoors and outdoors.
The festival aims to create a sustainable mid-winter celebration of art and culture again this year with additional exciting offerings.
Star Glaze, launched by Ōtaki Pottery Club and coinciding with Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club race day on Matariki Day, received a positive response from the community during the Matariki weekend in 2022 creating a unique festival feel where art and sport merged. The event provided a platform for emerging ceramists to showcase their work. Based on its success, the club aims to deepen the exploration of Matariki's significance through the festival.
