Businesses can access funding in a variety of sustainability areas that will support innovative change.

Funding can come from central government, local government or other community-based sustainability organisations. Here you will find information and quick links to different funds.

The Packaging Forum

This fund is focused on helping organisations keep their public spaces clean while improving recycling, with funding available for projects which reduce litter and increase recycling. To apply, please complete the online form. We’ll be in touch to discuss your application.

Waste Minimisation Fund

Te Pūtea Whakamauru Para the Waste Minimisation Fund (WMF) is focused on accelerating New Zealand’s transition towards a low emissions and low waste circular economy. The fund will remain open year-round unlike the short annual funding rounds of previous years. The focus is on initiatives that make the greatest impact. This is reflected in an increase in the minimum grant size.

Plastics Innovation Fund

The Plastics Innovation Fund supports projects that will minimise plastic waste and its harm to the environment. We are seeking to fund projects that find ways to use less plastic and make what we do use reusable or recyclable. Amount funded: $50M over 4 years.

Glass Packaging Forum

The forum works with organisations to improve outcomes for glass across New Zealand. That can include increasing the volume and quality of glass recovered for recycling or supporting reuse/refillables. Sometimes the required solutions need new infrastructure, equipment or funding for research.

Clean Car Discount

The Clean Car Discount aims to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from vehicles on New Zealand’s roads by making the cost of zero-emission and low-emission vehicles more affordable.
